Who You Are:

The Director of Human Resource Business Partners is a hands-on position that oversees a team of HR Business Partners by providing strategic and tactical guidance on how to best serve as the human resources business partner for assigned client companies.  The Director of Human Resource Services will oversee team performance and coach team members to expand capabilities and collaborate with internal business partners leading special HR operations and special projects.

What You'll Do:

Leadership & Talent Management

  • Maintain a highly engaged culture, motivate employees, foster an environment of teamwork and accountability while promoting organizational growth and success.
  • Provide vision, leadership, and coaching to the HR Managers relative to company processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Identify areas of development and training needs across the team.  Work with the Senior Director of HR Compliance and Training and VP HR to coordinate additional training as needed.
  • Assume role of subject matter expert on various topics under the direction of the VP HR and be a peer resource within Extensis for your designated topics related to client services.
  • In partnership with HR Leadership, establish departmental KPI and OKRs that supports the accomplishment of the Company’s goals.
  • Prepare and maintain reports as are necessary to track goal accomplishment.
  • Ensure productivity and performance standards are met especially during peak time periods.
  • Actively participate with the interviewing and hiring process to support the company’s goals to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and innovation as is related to improving processes, addressing performance, creating action plans and ensuring proper training and development of the team is rendered.
  • Serve as the backup to the VP and provide oversight, guidance and direction to the HR Managers.

Customer Service

  • Provides continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and formulating strategies to deliver optimized HR solutions and services to our clients.
  • Oversee clients’ strategic service delivery by providing proactive leadership on company initiatives.
  • Support HR Managers in driving strategic HR objectives in the areas of performance management, compensation planning, role definition, talent acquisition, organization structure, training and development.
  • Reviews investigative summaries and provides guidance to staff regarding workplace investigations to reduce litigation risk.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for general HR compliance, employee relations concerns and policy and procedure management.
  • Support Broker Sales Managers with visiting clients, brokers, and joining calls with prospect clients.
  • Work closely with ExtensisHR departments such as sales, operations, payroll and benefits departments to uphold cohesiveness and solutions driven interactions and relationships with our internal customers.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and pending legislation that impacts the company and the client base.
  • Engage VP Human Resources, clients’ outside legal counsel, and/or Extensis’ outside legal counsel as needed.\

Program Performance

  • Ensure HR operations programs and processes support and meet the changing needs and objectives of the organization by continually assessing change in the organization, industry and leading practices.
  • Leverage technology and automate processes internally and externally.
  • Ensure SLAs are developed, formalized and met.
  • Analyze, design and develop all productivity reports.
  • Execute long-term improvement initiatives and programs, aligning process, people and technology to meet business objectives.
  • Create and execute plans to energize associates around continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation

  • Document client interactions as “Cases” in ClientSpace.
  • Document investigations, RIFs and other confidential matters according to department best practices. 
  • Develop and maintain client HR services reporting center in company software.
  • Make effective use of company systems including Microsoft Office, Workflow Management System, and other licensed application.

What You Bring:

Education

  • BA or BS Degree required.
  • Advanced study in business, human resources or employment law highly desirable.
  • Industry certifications (PHR or SPHR, PMP Six Sigma).
  • Experience managing and leading a team of HR professionals (minimum of 5 years’ experience).
  • Experience in a PEO highly desirable.

Competencies

  • Strong command of federal and state employment laws including but not limited to: ADA, COBRA, EEO, FLSA, and FMLA.
  • Excellent communicator in writing and verbally in formal and informal business settings.

Position Salary:

160k-170k
