Who You Are:

The Underwriter Analyst supports the Risk Management department by conducting preliminary risk assessments on prospective clients. This role assists with the initial review of Sales RFIs, verifies industry information and operations, assigns SIC codes, and supports carrier coverage renewals. The analyst works closely with the Underwriting team to ensure accurate and efficient preparation of underwriting data for further evaluation.

What You'll Do:

  • Review inbound RFIs for completeness and route qualified submissions to Underwriting.
  • Validate prospective client business operations through public databases and documentation.
  • Assign appropriate SIC codes based on client industry and scope of work.
  • Support the organization and preparation of underwriting documentation.
  • Assist with carrier coverage renewals and related data collection.
  • Review and organize business licensing, tax IDs, ownership documents, and industry descriptions.
  • Maintain pre-underwriting data logs and CRM records.
  • Communicate with internal departments to clarify missing or conflicting information.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve RFI intake and screening workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to internal timelines and documentation standards.

What You Bring:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, insurance, or data analysis preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an Insurance Carrier, PEO, underwriting support, or insurance administrative environment.
  • Familiarity with SIC/NAICS industry classifications and general business operations.
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook, CRM, HRIS, NCCI systems.
  • Comfortable reviewing documents and making determinations based on written descriptions.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
